I was so excited when I opened my inbox to find out that Ashley & Drew’s wedding was going to be featured on The Knot! How cool is that??? Ashley, Drew and their families are just the sweetest. I had the best time coordinating their wedding and working with everyone from the guests to their vendors. Captured by Kelly Photography was able to get so many great shots throughout the day and she was such blast to work with. I’m looking forward to collaborating with all of them again in June for Drew’s brother’s wedding.

Jessica and Ryan’s wedding was seriously the best possible way I could have started off the 2014 wedding season. I had so much fun and couldn’t have asked for a more perfect match up. Jessica was such a sweet person to work with and to top it off, she is also super crafty! I wish I could take all of the credit for her day, but she had SO much to contribute to the whole process. At our first meeting, Jessica shared her vision with me and Nikki of Perfect Petal Designs. She told us about some of the antiques, books & bottles she had collected, crafts she had made, and the book page cones she planned to use for her ceremony send-off. From there, we put together a plan and hit the ground running. When the day finally arrived, I was crazy excited to see everything she had collected and made over the past few months. Our designs blended together PERFECTLY! I’m so honored that she trusted me to style and craft up her day. Here’s what we came up with:
The Ceremony
This display welcomed guests as they entered the church. Jessica made these cones filled with lavender from her favorite Nicholas Sparks book. Her book page idea gave me inspiration for the elements used in the centerpieces. For the church, I provided the vintage dresser and mirror, burlap and lace pew bows, burlap aisle runner, and a few of the accent pieces for the dresser. Miss-Crafty-Bride painted the adorable books, made ALL of those cones, and the monogram ‘S’. Be sure to click on the photos to see them larger.
Book page cones filled with lavender for the guests to toss as the bride and groom exit the church.
A close-up of a pew bow …and of the groom waiting for his bride. This is one of my favorite parts of a wedding ceremony. It’s always so sweet!
The Reception
Oh my gosh! This was my first time working in Hoover Park. The place is just gorgeous! I couldn’t have been more pleased. Be sure to check out the captions with each picture for more details about the decor!
Lounge Area – Jessica wanted to incorporate these chairs, but wanted a backdrop. I had these frames, and the rest was history!
Lounge Area
How cute is this? Generations of marriages all being celebrated at their wedding.
I was able to build these signs, just for Jessica and Ryan.
We’re missing a photo…”from this day forward”
What could be a more perfect way to use this window?
Gorgeous flowers from Perfect Petal Designs. I was able to design all of the table numbers. We had 3 different styles.
We used two different table runners. I hand made each of these book page runners. This is the first way that we incorporated the pages into the ceremony decor. The burlap and lace runners were provided by Perfect Petal Designs.
Each table that displayed these table numbers, had a significant fact about the couple that corresponded with that specific number.
The 2nd way we incorporated the books is in these pinwheels. They were 2-sided: either burlap book w/ pages or pink with book page. I provided the painted gold wine bottles.
“The number of hours it took her to realize that he was the one”
“The day in May he said ‘I do’ and she said ‘me too!’ “
These table numbers were really cool! Jessica provided the vintage postcards. I then “fancied” them up a little bit.
Another way we incorporated the book theme, was with, well books! Jessica painted several of them to match the color scheme. She collected over 100 vintage books just for this day!
Vintage Door Back Drop
Pie Table – instead of cake, everyone had home made pie for dessert – baked by friends and family members!
Thank you Brittany Graham Photography for doing such an amazing job capturing all of our hard work! Just gorgeous!
At the Today’s Bride bridal show, they give vendors an extra opportunity to show what they can do. In this case, we were able to choose any style of reception table, chairs, place settings, etc and go crazy with the decorations! The brides then vote on their favorite design.(We’re still awaiting the results…so keep your fingers crossed for me!)
Most folks rented their items, Miller’s Party Rental was awesome to let me use some of their pieces. Perfect Petal Designs (if you need a florist, she’s the best!) created an arrangement for the birdcage. I brought my own door…I mean table. Naturally, I couldn’t use just a plain old regular table…so I cleaned up an old door from the family farm, had some glass cut to fill in a few spots, and Voila! You have your perfect table for a lovely rustic wedding! My awesome friend let me borrow her birdcage, I chose the color scheme, and then let the creativity flow from there. What do you think?
